Job summary

Subway Group is looking for an Assistant Manager/Shift Manager to lead a small team in a fast-paced restaurant environment in Ontario. You will focus on delivering outstanding guest experiences, ensuring food quality, maintaining clean and safe premises, and managing inventory and scheduling.

The role emphasizes supervisory leadership, hands-on training, and cooperation with the broader team. This is a full-time position with day/evening/weekend shifts across locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in a restaurant operation, preferably with supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide an excellent Guest experience and ensure quality food is prepared and served.
• Keep restaurant functioning, clean and attractive, with high standards of safety and security.
• Control inventory and assist with product ordering as needed.
• Schedule and supervise staff (4–12) and plan staffing for shifts and events.

As part of the Subway® Team, you as an Assistant Manager will focus on seven main things:

In addition to the role of a Shift Manager, key parts of your day to day will consist of:

• Managing a staff of 4-12 including assigning and evaluating work
• Assisting in the planning of special events and promotions in restaurant, coordinating any training needed to make events successful
• Assisting with product ordering and inventory as needed

PREREQUISITES

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: Experience in a restaurant operation, preferably with supervisory experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Must be an excellent communicator with the ability to deal with all levels of team members. Computer knowledge is desirable.

Physical: Ability to work any area of the restaurant as needed and to operate computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. This position requires bending, standing and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
