Job Description

Scope of Position:

The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager reports directly to the Food & Beverage Manager and is supported by Supervisors. The successful candidate will be comfortable managing busy, high-quality operations, multitasking, and possess strong interpersonal skills. They will be responsible for all Food and Beverage operations, including culinary areas, overseeing guest and employee satisfaction, maintaining standards, and meeting or exceeding financial goals. They will develop and implement business plans for the Food and Beverage division.

Responsibilities:

Leading Food and Beverage Team

  • Manage operations of the Food and Beverage departments.
  • Supervise and manage employees, overseeing daily operations, and perform duties in employees' absence if needed.
  • Use interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and motivate others; promote sound financial and business decisions; demonstrate honesty and integrity; lead by example.
  • Oversee culinary, restaurant, beverage, and room service operations.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all employees and guests.
  • Respond promptly and proactively to employee concerns.
  • Create a learning environment focused on continuous improvement.
  • Encourage mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
  • Monitor and maintain employee productivity levels.
  • Provide leadership, vision, and direction to align departmental goals efficiently and effectively.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all corporate accounting procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates via telephone, written, email, or in person.
  • Analyze information and evaluate results to determine the best solutions and resolve problems.
  • Promote effective departmental communication through logs, meetings, and property-wide discussions.
  • Maintain and improve quality standards and guest service.
  • Supervise and coordinate daily operations of outlets, ensuring prompt and courteous service.
  • Maintain a first-class visual impact of the restaurant/bar, including ambiance, cleanliness, decor, and service flow.
  • Collaborate with teams to develop new ideas and promotions to increase Food & Beverage sales.
  • Work with kitchen, stewarding, and restaurant leaders to foster teamwork.
  • Assist with recruiting, staffing, and scheduling to ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy work environment for guests and colleagues.
  • Monitor and develop food & beverage controls.
  • Adhere to the Accor Code of Ethics.
