Job summary

Kids & Company in Whitby, ON is seeking an Assistant Director to support the daily operations of a Toddler room as a Registered Early Childhood Educator. You will help ensure high-quality childcare and compliance with CCEYA standards while guiding staff and delivering a nurturing environment near families' workplaces.

Qualifications

• Clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal reference check is required.
• Immunization records up to date and two-step TB test.
• Ability to push, pull and lift up to 45 pounds.
• Registered with the College of ECE’s in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Support children’s emotional, physical, and behavioral well being while helping develop their social, emotional, cognitive and physical skills.
• Maintain documentation, reporting, and record keeping.
• Implement an Emergent Curriculum.
• Maintain attendance, and health and safety checks.
• Collaborate with Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Early Interventionists as needed.
• Support children through transitions in and out of the classrooms.
• Meet all classroom ratios as outlined in CCEYA.
• Participate in and help lead staff meetings and workshops.
• Assist the Centre Director with child/staff files and ministry requirements.

About the position

Reporting to the Centre Director acts as an integral member of the Kids & Company team who is responsible for assisting the day-to-day operations of a specific childcare center through the conscientious application of Kids & Company standards to achieve our mission statement: to provide quality primary and backup childcare services conveniently located near our children’s parent’s place of work. We aim to assist corporations in creating a healthy work/life balance.

Responsibilities
