Job summary

Upper Canada Child Care in Bradford is recruiting a Registered Early Childhood Educator for a new full-day program at St. Vincent de Paul CES.

The role requires a diploma/degree in ECE, a valid VPES check, and the ability to support a developmentally appropriate, play-based program. The position offers full-time hours (40 per week) with a competitive hourly pay range and benefits, including professional development and wage enhancement grants.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education from a recognized college or university.
• A recent Police Vulnerable Sector Check.
• At least 18 years of age or older due to licensing requirements.
• Health assessment and up-to-date immunization as outlined by legislation.
• Up-to-date registration with the College of ECEs.
• Up-to-date CPR-C and Standard First Aid certification (training provided).
• Experience with inquiry/play based program design and implementation.
• Strong written and verbal communication with families and coworkers.
• Ability to supervise children in various settings including outdoors.
• Proficiency with computer systems; Dayforce and Storypark.

Responsibilities

• Applies professional knowledge of child development to a program aligned with Ministry of Education requirements and Upper Canada Child Care’s statements.
• Adheres to the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
• Keeps supervisor informed of compliance issues and policy changes.
• Engages with children to provide a positive learning experience and assist with meals, toileting, dressing, etc.
• Participates in professional development, meetings, and training.
• Completes charts, logs, reports, and administrative tasks.
• Provides guidance to assistants, students, and volunteers.
• Mentors student teachers and documents with educational institutions as required.
• Engages with parents and attends meetings to discuss children’s progress.
• Uses Storypark for documentation to guide program development.
• Collaborates with team, school personnel, and external agencies to support children.
• Identifies children needing extra support and guides families to resources.

We are currently recruiting a Registered Early Childhood Educator to join our Team in Bradford at the following location: St. Vincent de Paul CES.

This position is for our new full day program with an anticipated opening date of mid/late Fall 2026. This position is to fill a newvacancy.

Pay Range:

RECE: $26.59 - $30.39/hour (includes General Operating Grant) plus Wage Enhancement Grant (up to $2.00/hr)

Position Type & Required Availability:

• Full-Time Full Day Position (40 hours/week): Candidates must be available to work a 8-hour shift Monday-Friday to be considered.

Position Summary:

To ensure operational and curriculum requirements are met while applying specialized skills and knowledge related to early childhood education. To deliver a developmentally appropriate, inquiry/play based program while ensuring compliance with all internal and external guidelines, policies and procedures. Supports the organization’s vision, mission, and guiding values. This is a fully in-centre position.

Job Responsibilities:

• Applies professional knowledge of child development and current legislative expectations to support a program that is consistent with Ministry of Education requirements and in accordance with Upper Canada Child Care’s program statement.
• Adheres to the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice as outlined by the Ontario College of Early childhood Educators.
• Keeps team and supervisor apprised of compliance issues or problems related to governing regulation and internal policy.
• Engages with the children and provides a positive learning experience. Provides a range of care including assisting with meals/snacks, toileting, diapering, dressing, etc.
• Participates in professional development opportunities, staff meetings and training sessions as required.
• Completes program charts, daily logs, reports, and other administration tasks as required.
• Provides guidance to assistant educators, students and volunteers as needed.
• Models expectations for student teachers from colleges, universities, secondary schools, etc. Completes documentation from Educational Institutions as required.
• Fosters the engagement of and ongoing communication with parents about the program and their children. Attends parent and community meetings as needed.
• Uses Storypark for pedagogical documentation as a guide for program development.
• Effectively collaborates and communicates with other team members, school personnel, and outside agencies to help support the needs of all children.
• Identifies children in need of additional support. Guides parents through the process of accessing resources. Helps design and implement individual support plans as required.

• Proven ability to communicate (written and verbal) effectively and establish appropriate relationships with families, coworkers and other professionals.
• Have the physical and emotional stamina to effectively supervise children in a variety of settings including outdoor public spaces.
• Ability to use computer systems and programs; including Dayforce, and Storypark.
• Moderate level of physical effort is regularly required; including but not limited to kneeling, pushing, pulling, bending, and carrying.
