Job summary

Little Willows by Kids & Company Edge in Maple Ridge is seeking a Centre Director to lead our childcare centre while actively supporting in the classroom and school-age program. You will work with another educator, including walking children to and from a nearby school, and help deliver high-quality programming.

Qualifications

• ECE certification or equivalent as required by provincial regulations.
• Minimum 3 years in a licensed childcare setting with leadership experience.
• Current First Aid & CPR certification and clear criminal record check.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily centre operations including staffing, scheduling, enrollment, and programming.
• Ensure licensing, health and safety standards, and policies are followed.
• Lead, coach, and support a team of educators.
• Build relationships with children, families, and staff.
• Maintain licensing, attendance, and administrative documentation.
• Support enrollment and family retention initiatives.
• Work directly in ratio with children for 5–6 hours daily.
• Walk children to and from nearby school for daily drop-off/pick-up.
• Collaborate to deliver engaging, high-quality programming.
• Support children's development across social, emotional, cognitive, and physical domains.

Are you a passionate and experienced early childhood leader looking to make a meaningful impact? Little Willows by Kids & Company is seeking a dedicated Centre Director to lead our childcare centre while remaining actively involved in the classroom and school-age program.

This is a 35-hour-per-week position with a split shift between the morning and afternoon. The successful candidate will work directly with children alongside another educator, including walking children to and from a nearby school, supporting programming, and providing classroom coverage. There is potential for this role to increase to 40 hours per week in the future.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily centre operations, including staffing, scheduling, enrollment, and programming
• Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies
• Lead, coach, and support a team of educators
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff
• Maintain licensing, attendance, and administrative documentation
• Support enrollment and family retention initiatives
• Work directly in ratio with children for approximately 5-6 hours per day
• Walk children to and from a nearby school for daily drop-off and pick-up
• Collaborate alongside another educator to deliver engaging, high-quality programming
• Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
• Ensure the centre is organized, compliant, and audit-ready

Qualifications

• Early Childhood Education (ECE) certification or equivalent qualifications as required by provincial regulations
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a licensed childcare setting
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
• Current First Aid & CPR certification
• Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
• Strong knowledge of childcare licensing regulations and best practices
• Ability to balance administrative responsibilities with hands-on classroom support
