Job summary

Save-On-Foods in Duncan, BC is hiring an Assistant Department Manager, Bakery to lead a team and ensure top-quality bakery service. You will coach staff, maintain a customer-first environment, manage training, and help drive sales through knowledge of the local market.

Open availability for 40 hours per week is required. The role includes benefits, weekly pay, and opportunities for growth within Western Canada’s largest grocery retailer.

Qualifications

• Retail or customer service experience is an asset.
• Food Safe Certification.
• Passion for great food and customer service.
• Strong work ethic and 'let’s get it done' attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with leading a team, acting as a coach, mentor, and resource to team members.
• Fostering a positive environment that is focused on Always Customer First service.
• Engaging and retaining team members through training and development, performance management, rewards/recognition and the identification and development of future leaders.
• Communicating important messages with the team.
• Using knowledge of the community, competitive environment, and industry to develop entrepreneurial strategies to grow the business.
• Taking count of the correct amount of stock.

The successful candidate must have open availability and be available for 40 hours per week.

You will be responsible for:

Compensation Details:

$19.25 - $22.60

The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience, and other factors.
