Cogir Senior Living is seeking an Assistant Cook to prepare and deliver meals for residents, guests, and employees in a retirement setting. You will review menus, adhere to production charts, and ensure safe food handling while meeting dietary needs.

Must have a Food Handler's Certificate; Red Seal preferred. Experience in large quantity meal prep for healthcare and a VPS screening within 6 months is required. Wage starts at $22.00/hour, with accommodation considerations as needed.

Qualifikationen

• Must possess a Food Handler's Certificate.
• Red Seal Certificate preferred.
• Experience in large quantity food preparation, healthcare or retirement setting.
• Knowledge of Provincial Food Premises Regulation and Canada’s Food Guide.
• Knowledge of special and therapeutic diets.
• Physically able to lift heavy items and stand most of shift.
• Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
• Vulnerable Position/Sector Screening valid within 6 months.

Aufgaben

• Prepare and deliver foods for residents, guests and employees.
• Review menus and production sheets; prepare and serve meals attractively.
• Ensure proper food handling techniques.
• Complete daily temperature audits for fridge, freezers and storerooms.
• Prepare and serve foods for therapeutic/special diets.
• Make menu substitutions and record changes.
• Adhere to service time schedules and budgets.
• Comply with regulations and departmental policies.
• Participate in special occasion/theme meals and staff trainings.
• Uphold Resident Rights and promote the organization’s values.
• Engage in Quality Improvement activities and safety procedures.
