Job summary

MEDFAR is seeking an Assistant Controller to join the Finance department in a hybrid Montreal setting. You will support the Controller with month-end close, reconciliations, tax compliance, cash-flow forecasting, and audit activities across multiple entities.

The ideal candidate has a CPA, strong accounting knowledge, and excels in Excel/ERP environments, with 5–8 years of experience and bilingual capabilities being an asset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• CPA designation is mandatory.
• Approximately 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, multi-entity preferred.
• Strong knowledge of month-end close, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems; bilingualism is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Prepare bank reconciliations, cash-flow forecasts and variance analyses.
• GST/QST returns, tax compliance, and government filings.
• Accounts payable processing and payment controls.
• Audit support, intercompany accounting, and year-end activities.
