Job summary

ProKontrol in Laval, QC is seeking an Assistant Controller to support the finance team with month-end closings, financial statement prep, and auditor deliverables. The role includes AR/AP support, payroll processing during absences, and collaboration on accounting modernization projects.

The ideal candidate holds a college accounting degree with 5+ years’ experience or a bachelor’s degree with 2+ years’ experience, strong Excel, and solid knowledge of the full accounting cycle.

Qualifications

• College degree in accounting with 5+ years experience or bachelor’s degree with 2+ years experience.
• Strong knowledge of the full accounting cycle and good Excel proficiency.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the month-end closing process.
• Ensure the preparation of divisional monthly financial statements.
• Participate in annual financial statements and auditor documentation.
• Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable (super user).
• Support budgeting, analyze variances, and government remittances.
