Job summary

IKEA is seeking a Carpenter I in Burlington, ON to support installation teams across residential and commercial projects. You will assist in daily operations and ensure work is conducted to IKEA standards while maintaining safe, organized job sites.

Role requires 5+ years in carpentry and leadership experience, with strong communication and project management skills. The position offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of finishing carpentry or kitchen installation experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a lead installation/foreman role.
  • Previous leadership/supervisory experience.
  • Project management experience.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
  • Basic understanding of the sales, logistics and customer service process.
  • Deep understanding of residential and commercial construction.
  • Local installation market understanding.
  • Project management knowledge.
  • Proficiency with technology and ability to use computer/tablet/software.
  • Excellent interpersonal and management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the TL with daily operations of Installation teams to ensure work is performed efficiently and to IKEA standards.
  • Install and assemble IKEA cabinets efficiently.
  • Assist the TL in addressing and resolving customer and coworker concerns, upholding IKEA values.
  • Support regional sales targets by contributing to installation programs and profitability.
  • Audit referral partner performance and installation quality; provide recommendations to regional management.
  • Develop relationships with stores and teams; create coaching materials and communications for IKEA Kitchen Services.
  • Establish feedback loops for Planning & Sales, Operations Support and Field Teams.
  • Perform PIVS and site inspections as needed.

  • Assist the TL the daily operations of Installation teams, Ensures that the teams efficiently perform and complete the work according to directions and consistent with IKEA standards, including ensuring the jobsite is maintained in an organized and orderly
  • Fashion. Installs and Assembles IKEA cabinets efficiently
  • Assist the TL in addressing and resolving customer and co-worker concerns, demonstrates empathy, and reinforces the IKEA values and IKEA Home Services Concept; Escalates any customer or co-worker issues/concerns that cannot be resolved to the Regional Manager or appropriate IKEA internal partners.
  • Contributes to the IKEA commercial priorities for installation sales programs within an assigned district area to ensure the achievement of sales, margin, close rate, and profitability goals. Provides insight and recommendations to regional management on trends, practices, and industry forces to troubleshoot issues and improve business productivity and resilience.
  • Audits on Referral Partner performance and installation quality. Delivers recommendations based on deep understanding of performance metrics and industry forces to Regional Manager.
  • Creates and facilitates constructive operational relationships with a sub-region of IKEA stores, utilizing the matrix relationship with the sales and customer focused teams. Generates presentations, coaching methods, and communication for IKEA Kitchen Services offerings, both remotely and through onsite meetings with IKEA store teams.
  • Establishes and contributes to feedback loops for Planning & Sales, Operations Support and Field Teams.
  • Performs PIVS and site inspections when needed

The starting rate/ salary for this position ranges from 28 CAD to 36 CAD and will be based on relevant work experience.
