Job summary

IKEA Richmond is seeking an experienced carpenter foreman to lead installation teams on residential and commercial projects. You will oversee daily operations, ensure safety and IKEA standards, and coordinate with store teams across the region.

The role requires a strong background in finishing carpentry, leadership, and project management, with a valid driver's license and reliable transport. Starting pay ranges hourly, reflecting experience.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of finishing carpentry, other carpentry, or kitchen installation experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a lead installation/foreman role
  • Previous leadership/supervisory experience
  • Project management experience
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation
  • Basic understanding of the sales, logistics and customer service process.
  • Deep understanding of residential and commercial construction
  • Local installation market understanding
  • Project management knowledge
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the safe operation and maintenance of common power tools.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and directs the daily operations of Installation teams, ensuring teams perform and complete work per directions and IKEA standards and safety.
  • Addresses and resolves customer and co-worker concerns, demonstrates empathy, and upholds IKEA values and Home Services concept; escalates issues as needed.
  • Onboards and trains co-workers; directs onboarding, coaching, development, and succession planning.
  • Contributes to installation sales program priorities to achieve sales, margin, close rate, and profitability goals.
  • Audits partner performance and installation quality; delivers recommendations to Regional Manager.
  • Creates and maintains relationships with IKEA store teams; supports presentations and coaching for Kitchen Services offerings.
  • Establishes feedback loops for Planning, Sales, Operations Support and Field Teams.
  • Performs PIVS, Installations and site inspections.

Job description

What you’ll need to have

A day in your life with us

Supervises and directs the daily operations of Installation teams, Ensures that the teams efficiently perform and complete the work according to directions and consistent with IKEA standards and safety including ensuring the jobsite is maintained in an organized and orderly fashion.

  • Addresses and resolves customer and co-worker concerns, demonstrates empathy, and reinforces the IKEA values and IKEA Home Services Concept; Escalates any customer or co-worker issues/concerns that cannot be resolved to the Regional Manager or appropriate IKEA internal partners.
  • Onboards and trains co-workers. Directs the overall selection, onboarding, coaching and development of co-workers. Creates individual development plans to secure succession. Manages resource planning, coworker relations issues and performance and delegates responsibilities.
  • Contributes to the IKEA commercial priorities for installation sales programs within an assigned district area to ensure the achievement of sales, margin, close rate, and profitability goals. Provides insight and recommendations to regional management on trends, practices, and industry forces to troubleshoot issues and improve business productivity and resilience.
  • Audits on Referral Partner performance and installation quality. Delivers recommendations based on deep understanding of performance metrics and industry forces to Regional Manager.
  • Creates and facilitates constructive operational relationships with a sub-region of IKEA stores, utilizing the matrix relationship with the sales and customer focused teams. Generates presentations, coaching methods, and communication for IKEA Kitchen Services offerings, both remotely and through onsite meetings with IKEA store teams.
  • Establishes and contributes to feedback loops for Planning & Sales, Operations Support and Field Teams.
  • Performs PIVS , Installations and site inspections

The starting rate/ salary for this position ranges from 22 CAD to 27 CAD and will be based on relevant work experience.
