Job summary

Planet Ice is seeking a mechanically inclined, dependable individual to maintain our refrigeration plant and build systems across Delta and Coquitlam facilities. The role includes operating a Zamboni and supporting rink operations as needed.

A candidate with an IFO or RO certificate, or 4th/5th class Power Engineer certification, and some arena experience is preferred. Training can be provided for those with strong mechanical aptitude and a positive, can-do attitude.

Qualifications

• Candidate must hold IFO or RO certificate, or 4th/5th class Power Engineer certification.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience in arena environments preferred.
• Willingness to work varying shifts with graveyard shift differential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain refrigeration plant and building systems to keep facilities running efficiently.
• Operate Zamboni or support rink operations as needed.
• Adapt to changing shifts and collaborate with team to ensure safety and reliability.

You aremechanically inclined, have a passion for hockey, and are experienced working in a hockey arena. As a hard-working,self-sufficient, and dependable employee, you're excited to take on this role that includes maintaining the refrigeration plant and all other aspects of the building as well as having the opportunity to drive the Zamboni. This role includes working varying shifts and also includes a shift differential for graveyard shifts.

This is youropportunity to use yourIce Facility Operator (IFO), Refrigeration Operator (RO)certification or 4th-5th class Power Engineer certification and mechanical aptitude to keep Planet Ice's facilities in Delta and Coquitlam running at peak efficiency. You will be workingalongside an amazing team!!

To qualify for this role you already have your IFO or RO certificate, or you are a4th or 5th class Power Engineer, and for bonus points, you have a knack for fixing all things mechanicaland a couple years' experience working in an arena. If you're new to the world of hockey arena operations though have strong mechanical aptitude, relevant work experience, and a positive 'can-do' attitude,we can provide trainingand assist you to become IFO/RO certified.
