Job summary

Kaizen Lab Inc. seeks a mechanically skilled arena operations specialist to maintain refrigeration systems, operate the Zamboni, and handle PAHL duties at our Coquitlam facility.

You will combine technical maintenance with league operations, providing frontline customer service to players and guests, and supporting scheduling, registrations, and communications for PAHL games. Ideal candidates hold IFO, RO, or Power Engineer certifications, or are willing to obtain them with support.

Qualifications

  • Certifications in IFO, RO, or Power Engineer, or willingness to obtain with employer support.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent customer service skills.
  • Experience in recreation, sports, or arena settings is a plus.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain arena refrigeration plant, ice surfaces, and building systems for safe, efficient facility operations.
  • Drive and maintain the Zamboni and perform routine facility inspections and basic repairs.
  • Coordinate PAHL league operations, including scheduling, registrations, payments, standings, and communications.
  • Serve as primary contact for players, captains, officials, and guests, delivering exceptional customer service.

Are youmechanically inclined, passionate about hockey, and experienced working in ahockey arena? As a hard-working, self-sufficient, and dependable team member,you're excited to take on a unique dual role that includes maintainingthe refrigeration plant and all aspects of the building, driving the Zamboni,and managing the day-to-day operations of the Pacific Adult Hockey League(PAHL).

Workingalongside an outstanding team, you'll help ensure our facilities operate atpeak performance while delivering an organized, welcoming, and enjoyable leagueexperience for hundreds of adult hockey players.

KeyResponsibilities
  • Operate, monitor,and maintain the arena refrigeration plant, ice surfaces, and buildingsystems to ensure safe and efficient facility operations.
  • Drive and maintainthe Zamboni while performing routine facility inspections and basicmechanical repairs.
  • Coordinate PAHLleague operations, including scheduling, registrations, payments,standings, and league communications.
  • Serve as theprimary point of contact for players, captains, officials, and guests,providing exceptional customer service and resolving inquiriesprofessionally.
  • Manage incidentreports, disciplinary processes, and game-day operations while supportingmarketing, recruitment, and league growth initiatives.
  • Collaborate withthe Operations team to deliver a safe, organized, and exceptionalexperience for all facility users and league participants.

To qualifyfor this role, you have your Ice Facility Operator (IFO), RefrigerationOperator (RO), or 4th or 5th Class Power Engineer certification, or you'reeager to obtain certification with our support. You bring strong mechanicalaptitude, excellent customer service skills, and thrive in a fast-pacedenvironment where no two days are the same. Experience working in a recreation,sports, or arena setting is an asset, along with a solid understanding ofleague scheduling and statistics software. You're comfortable troubleshootingminor technology issues, communicating with players, officials, and teammates,and balancing multiple priorities with confidence.

Mostimportantly, you're a natural problem solver with exceptional organizationaland communication skills, sound judgement, a positive "can-do"attitude, and a genuine passion for hockey and creating an outstandingexperience for everyone who walks through our doors.
