Position Summary

Under the direction of the Operations Manager or designate, the Facility Operator will perform a variety of tasks related to ice installation and preparations, event set‑up and tear down, housekeeping duties, preventative facility maintenance, emergency repairs, and day‑to‑day operations while maintaining a cohesive and team‑approach work environment with an expectation of a high level of customer service.

This role pays an hourly rate of $16.00–$20.00 CAD.

About The Venue

The Temple Gardens Centre in Moose Jaw stands as southern Saskatchewan’s premier venue, encompassing 210,000 square feet of versatile space dedicated to community recreation and entertainment, boasting a 4,500 seat arena, 8‑sheet curling rink with a two‑tier lounge overlooking the ice and meeting and conference spaces.

Responsibilities

• Assist with arena ice install, removal, and daily and weekly maintenance. Resurface hockey ice based on usage and need. The resurface schedule may change from day to day.
• Use operations equipment including staging, audiovisual, lighting, small equipment tools, pallet jacks, forklifts, ice resurfacers, edgers, etc.
• Assist with event preparations including but not limited to stage set‑up and tear‑down, set of tables and chairs, AV equipment, meeting room spaces as required.
• Set up, tear down, and prepare Main Tenant games and or events.
• Respond immediately to emergency situations (fire, evacuation, equipment failure, etc.) and customer concerns as required.
• Demonstrate attention to detail.
• Provide exceptional customer service to our clients and fans.
• Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Perform maintenance including but not limited to painting, drywall repairs, maintenance of exterior sidewalks, snow and ice removal, parking lots and grounds, and various other tasks.
• Cleaning to meet sanitation requirements and protocols in areas including but not limited to bathrooms, bowl seating, common areas, dressing rooms, hockey benches, and meeting rooms.

Qualifications

• One year of experience cleaning a business facility preferred.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and climb ladders/work from heights as required.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, days, evenings, overnight, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to work independently and under minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational skills, detail‑oriented with ability to handle multiple assignments.
• Proven record of excellent internal and external customer service.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
