Job summary

Requirements include Grade 12, Basic Refrigeration, and a valid Ontario G license with CPR/First Aid. The role demands shift work and adherence to health and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 diploma preferred with refrigeration credentials.
• Basic Refrigeration Certificate required.
• CIT courses through ORFA would be an asset.
• Experience as Assistant Operator or related roles with ice maintenance equipment.
• Experience directing staff.
• OHSA and WHMIS knowledge.
• Ability to follow detailed procedures and use fractions.
• Available to work shifts.
• Valid Class G Ontario driver's license; maintain.
• Refrigeration Operator B class certificate an asset.
• Current Standard First Aid with CPR Level C certification required; proof may be requested.
• Computer skills in Peoplesoft and Microsoft Outlook.
• Must be able to lift 30lbs.
• VS Check after hire may be required.

Responsibilities

• Install and remove ice and maintain ice quality.
• Operate ice resurfacer and ice cutter.
• Direct part-time staff and oversee facility use.
• Assist tradespersons with non-technical tasks.
• Perform minor building and grounds maintenance.
• Administer First Aid when required.
• Maintain health and safety compliance with OHSA/WHMIS.
• Maintain logs for equipment and attendance.
• Set up for activities and supervise in absence of supervisor.
