Job summary

City of Oshawa is seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Worker to support arenas, pools, and related facilities. You will maintain ice conditions, operate the ice resurfacer, care for pool/spa systems, and help with building HVAC and maintenance tasks.

The role requires safety training, physical stamina, and the ability to work shifts and respond to emergencies. Applicants should have CIT/ORFA/SIRO, CPO or equivalent, and related certifications; a valid G license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Six months of arena and building operations experience.
• CIT with ORFA/SIRO or equivalent plus six months experience.
• Pool operator certification or equivalent plus six months experience.
• Knowledge of building systems and safety policies is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain arena ice conditions, refrigeration plant and building mechanical systems.
• Operate ice resurfacing machine and perform minor maintenance tasks.
• Perform rink area maintenance including flooding, painting the ice, and snow removal.
• Maintain pool water conditions, filtration systems and water chemistry.
• Assist with refrigeration and HVAC preventative maintenance; monitor readings and belts.
