Job summary

Canadian Plains Energy Services in Lloydminster is seeking Apprentice Pipefitters to lay out, install, and maintain pipe systems for oilfield and industrial facilities. Based out of our Lloydminster shop, you will assist journeypersons, read blueprints, assemble piping, and prepare components for fabrication and onsite installation.

This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and hands-on learning in a demanding environment.

Qualifications

• Registered with apprenticeship board as an apprentice pipefitter.
• Previous oilfield apprentice experience.
• Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret red-line construction drawings and blueprints (Isometrics, P&ID’s).
• Assist journeyperson pipefitters with installation of equipment, piping and structural steel onsite.
• Assemble piping and valves.
• Prepare pipe and fittings for tacking, hoisting, and rigging.
• Hydrotest, assemble and install pipe spools in fabrication facility.
• Measure, cut, and thread pipe to required shape.
• Install supports, valves, piping and control systems.
• Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system.

Job description

Our Apprentice Pipefitters possess the full range of knowledge required to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for oil, steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling and industrial production and processing systems.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience working as an apprentice in the oilfield industry
• Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
