Job summary

Jardeg is recruiting Pipefitter Apprentices to join the Heartland Constructors team at the Imperial Oil Kearl site in Fort MacKay, Alberta. Charter flights are provided from Calgary or Edmonton to site, and workers stay at the Wapasu camp with hot meals, lodging and onsite amenities.

You will assist in laying out, assembling, fabricating, maintaining and repairing piping systems, read drawings, and follow safety procedures under supervision, with opportunities for certification and career growth.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Certificate of Completion in the Pipefitter Trade.
• Energy Safety Canada CSO certification.
• Energy Safety Canada Confined Space certification.
• Energy Safety Canada Fall Protection certification.
• Energy Safety Canada Wood Buffalo / Wildlife awareness.
• Basic Rigging - In Person certification.
• Overhead Crane - In Person certification.
• First Aid - Level A or C certification.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of functional operation of various piping system components by measuring, cutting, threading, grooving and bending of pipes, valves and fittings.
• Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair piping systems which carry water, steam, chemicals or fuel used in heating, cooling, lubricating and other processes.
• Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair pressurized piping systems.
• Hydrotest and install fabricated pipe spools within structural steel modular assemblies, adding designed supports as required.
• Use testing equipment effectively to check for system leaks and troubleshoot fitting errors.
• Maintain all tools, work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion.
• Read and interpret client and company supplied construction fabrication drawings and specifications.
• Red-line update drawings to an as-built condition.
• Follow various Heartland and Client policies & procedures including adherence to requirements of ISO 9001-2000.

Jardeg is recruiting Pipefitters to join the Heartland Constructors team at the Imperial Oil Kearl site in Fort MacKay, Alberta. Charter flights are provided from Calgary or Edmonton to site. While working on-site, workers will be staying at the Wapasu camp which will provide hot meals, lodging, workout facilities, Wi‑Fi and much more!.

Steamfitter – pipefitters lay out, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair piping systems which carry water, steam, chemicals or fuel used in heating, cooling, lubricating and other processes. Pipefitters also remove and replace worn components, do general maintenance work and may work on plant shut-downs.
