Job summary

Strike Group in Bonnyville, Alberta is seeking Apprentice Pipefitters to lay out, assemble, install and maintain piping systems and related equipment for industrial projects. You will read drawings, assist journeypersons on site, and assemble piping and valves with a focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Must be registered as an Apprentice with the appropriate provincial or federal authority.
• Able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
• Able to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret red-line construction drawings and blueprints (Isometrics, P&ID’s, etc.).
• Assist journeyperson pipefitters with the installation of equipment, pipe, and structural steel on site.
• Assemble piping and valves in module and compressor packages.
• Prepare pipe and fittings for tacking, hoisting, and rigging.
• Hydrotest, assemble, and install pipe spools in the fabrication facility.
• Measure, cut, and thread pipe to the required shape.
• Install supports, valves, piping, and control systems.
• Remove and replace worn components and reactivate systems.

Employees are expected to support and participate in a “culture of safety” and adhere to and be ambassadors of Strike’s Code of Conduct and Values, and to treat others with dignity, respect, and fairness.
