Purpose
The Application Specialist is the primary service provider to Guardian’s Industrial customers, to ensure that Guardian chemical application programs perform at the least cost operating scenario at customer sites and that high product / application standards are achieved and maintained. The Application Specialist works closely with Account Managers in designated territories and accounts, as well as Subject Matter Experts and the Industrial Sales Director.

What you will do

  • Visit client sites on a schedule to conduct periodic chemical testing to ensure programs are at optimal levels. Support customer chemical system change-outs as and when needed.
  • Write Technical Service Reports for clients after each visit which document successful application of chemical treatment programs within the DATAGUARD software application.
  • Achieve target system performance through adjustment of chemical dosages.
  • Assist in account management through ensuring inventories are maintained at proper levels and that all preventive maintenance is performed on equipment to ensure reliable operation and optimum performance.
  • Communicate with customers to ensure that the treatment program is a strong collaborative effort where Guardian oversight assures success.
  • Work safely and with minimal supervision in all aspects of the role including vehicle travel to customer sites.
  • Ensure all hazard assessments are completed as required, and provide training for customers on safe handling and procedures related to chemicals.
  • Support the sales team as needed through participation in new account set up and in training and mentoring new staff members.
  • Support the Mission, Vision and Core Values of Guardian through your proactive nature and positive attitude.
  • Comply with and support our Quality and Environmental Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Continuously learn through extensive training and hands on experiences to become a cleaning chemical specialist.

  • Physical capability to manage stairs, ladders, and some moderate lifting (up to 50lbs).
  • Excellent computer skills that include the use of MS Office Suite of products.
  • Previous experience working with customers in a related industry.
  • Post-secondary education in Science or Engineering is considered an asset.
