Job summary

Best Buy Canada is hiring an Appliance Tester to join a collaborative team that tests home appliances to ensure they are defective or operational, helping deliver quality products to customers and extending appliance lifecycles. The role runs for 6 months with a Monday–Friday 8:00 am–4:30 pm schedule, plus some Saturdays, at the Brampton distribution site.

Ideal candidates have 6+ months of electronics testing experience, basic electrical theory knowledge, and a team-focused, safety-minded

Qualifications

• 6+ months experience testing electronics, consumer equipment, or appliances.
• Basic understanding of electrical or electronic theory; prior experience or training in appliance theory, testing, or repair is an asset.
• Mechanical knowledge or experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Test appliances — check washers, dryers, ranges, dishwashers, fridges, freezers, microwaves and more to ensure everything works as intended.
• Quality Control — verify temperatures, settings, and key accessories; grade appliances based on looks and performance.
• Reset and refresh — perform resets or data wipes to prepare appliances for the next home.
• Keep things moving — update systems and organize each unit for its next destination.

Join our amazing team! We are hiring immediately for an Appliance Tester! As an Appliance Tester, you will be part of a collaborative team that tests home appliances to determine whether a unit is defective or operational – not only helping us deliver amazing products to our customers but also prolonging the lifecycle of appliances to support our environment!

Availability Requirements

• Shift: 8:00 am-4:30 pm Monday to Friday (+ some Saturdays).
• 6-month contract (potential for contract extensions or permanent positions beyond end date)
• You must be available to work a minimum of 32 hours a week for the duration of the contract

What You’ll Do As An Appliance Tester

• Test appliances — check out washers, dryers, ranges, dishwashers, fridges, freezers, microwaves and more to make sure everything’s working as it should.
• Quality Control — verify that temperatures, settings, and key accessories are all on point, and grade each appliance based on how it looks and runs.
• Reset and refresh — when needed, perform resets or data wipes to get appliances ready for their next home.
• Keep things moving — update our systems and organize each unit for its next destination.

What We’re Looking For

• Ability to work well in fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to life up to 50 lbs., with consistent bending and twisting.
• Team players who show up, support others, are committed to working safely and bring a positive attitude
• 6+ months experience testing electronics, consumer equipment, or appliances.
• Basic understanding of electrical or electronic theory; prior experience or training in appliance theory, testing, or repair is an asset.
• Mechanical knowledge or experience is an asset.

Base pay range
