Job summary

Calico AI is seeking its first dedicated supply-side lead in Toronto. You’ll own supplier onboarding end-to-end for apparel, from recruiting to first live order. You’ll design the playbook and define the thesis that shapes Calico’s growth, with high ownership and rapid experimentation.

You’ll recruit, map, and close factories and mills, then collect supplier data and shape product roadmaps. This role blends business development with discovery and requires hands-on field work.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in marketplace supply growth, sourcing, or apparel production.
• Proven closing ability with businesses that had no prior reason to trust you.
• Comfort with ambiguity and ability to create playbooks where none exist.
• Analytical mindset, comfortable with data and spreadsheets.
• Cross‑cultural fluency across time zones and regions.
• Clear writing capable of shaping strategy and roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and close apparel suppliers.
• Build the supplier target map by category, country, tier, and capability.
• Run outbound end-to-end: source, pitch, negotiate, and sign agreements.
• Leverage channels: agents, offices, associations, trade shows, and brand vendor lists.
• Travel to factories and conduct capability audits as needed.
