Job summary

Propelis is seeking a Payroll Specialist to lead complex payroll operations across the Americas, with a primary focus on Canada. You will coordinate with in-country providers, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive process improvements while maintaining accurate, timely pay.

You will report to the Senior Payroll Manager and mentor colleagues within the Global Payroll Team. The role requires 5–8 years of payroll experience across multiple jurisdictions, strong analytical skills, and proficiency

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of multi-country payroll experience.
• Knowledge of Canada, US, and Americas payroll regulations.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders.
• Advanced Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage EORs across the Americas.
• Process monthly and off-cycle payrolls using UKG, ADP Celergo and/or other in-country payroll systems.
• Administer UKG WFM including time/attendance governance and issue resolution.
• Perform detailed payroll audits and validate hires, terminations, salary changes and retroactive adjustments.
• Reconcile payroll reports and ensure accuracy of deductions and net pay.
• Ensure compliance with local tax and statutory requirements across Americas countries.
• Escalate complex payroll queries from employees, HR and vendors.
• Coordinate with payroll providers to ensure timely processing and SLA adherence.
• Support month-end and year-end payroll activities and statutory filings.
• Develop and maintain SOPs and payroll calendars across countries.
