About the Role

As an Operator Maintainer at Karara, you’ll be crucial to the daily operations of both fixed and mobile plant equipment, helping keep Karara Mining’s Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) running smoothly. You’ll join a close-knit team of 40, working in a cutting-edge facility with a mobile, extendable conveyor system that reduces both costs and environmental impact.

What You’ll Do

• Operating various mobile plant equipment, ensuring compliance with VOC requirements.
• Assist with maintenance of the conveyor system and housekeeping of equipment.
• Running the control room and staying in touch with the team to ensure everything flows smoothly.
• Conducting inspections of plant equipment and reporting any defects or issues.
• Performing pre-start checks and supporting repairs when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate mobile plant equipment.
• Communicate and coordinate with the Leading Hand to ensure operational schedules are followed.
• Perform regular equipment inspections and report any maintenance needs.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain HSE standards.
• Help with plant cleaning and general maintenance.

Skills and Qualifications You’ll Need

• Current HR Driver’s License.
• Loader Ticket.
• Dozer Ticket.
• Articulated Dump Truck Ticket - preferable, but not essential.
• Skid Steer Ticket - preferable, but not essential.
• Previous experience operating skid steers, loaders (CAT 992, CAT 988 / WA900), dump trucks (Rigid Haul, Articulated), and watercarts.
• Desirable skills: Experience with the FLS-Stockpile conveyor system, a First Aid Certificate, and competency in dozers (D10, D9, D6) and graders (14M).
