Job summary

SSP Canada operates multiple restaurants at the Montreal Trudeau Airport and is seeking a skilled Prep Cook to join our team. This role focuses on food preparation, including slicing, chopping, and general prep work in a Restaurant Kitchen Environment.

Qualifications

• One year experience in a food service environment is essential.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Experience dealing with customer service-related issues.
• Basic math skills to operate a cash register and handle payments.
• Food handlers permit as required by law.
• Brand Certification as required.
• Ability to remember, recite, and promote menu items.
• Ability to operate a keyboard and POS procedures to pre-check orders and close checks.
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Follow all recipes and practice portion control to prepare, garnish, and present items.
• Maintain proper set-up of the kitchen station daily, including stocking.
• Handle, store, and rotate all products properly.
• Complete shift prep-sheet items as listed.
• Set-up, maintain, clean, and breakdown machinery and equipment.
• Maintain stock, cutting, and storage of all perishables daily.
• Complete opening, on-going, and closing checklists as required.
• Perform cleaning tasks with standard products to meet health standards.
