Job summary

SSP Canada operates multiple restaurants inside Billy Bishop Airport and seeks a Line Cook to receive orders and prepare dishes for guests. You will set up the kitchen for efficient service and maintain cleanliness and organization throughout shifts.

Responsibilities include following recipes, unloading deliveries, equipment maintenance, opening/closing procedures, and ensuring hygiene through proper cleaning. Attention to detail and team coordination are essential.

Qualifications

• One year minimum experience in food service environment.
• Verbal and written communication is essential.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Must be able to obtain Transport Canada security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Follows the recipes, checks the portion of the recipes, the garnishes and present the dishes ordered.
• Help unload, organize, and put delivered products away in the appropriate storage areas.
• Ensures regular maintenance, cleaning and proper functioning of assigned equipment and machines.
• Completes opening / closing procedures
• Put all the utensils used during the shift in its place, clean and tidy up its work place as well as the storage areas (includes refrigerators, freezers), empty, clean and store the bins.
• Practice general and specific cleanings using the appropriate products as indicated by the manager in order to meet hygiene standards.
