Job summary

Ericsson Canada Inc. is seeking an experienced AI in RAN System Developer to apply machine learning and analytics to real-world telecom challenges.

You will work on AI-enabled RAN functions, contributing from early design to production-quality implementation in cutting-edge NR/5G Advanced tech and towards AI-native networks. You will collaborate with teams to optimize network performance under strict real-time constraints and develop experiments to validate AI-driven improvements across

Qualifications

• Strong ML fundamentals across supervised, unsupervised and reinforcement learning.
• Ability to decide between classical algorithms vs ML solutions.
• Experience with resource-constrained, real-time embedded AI.
• Knowledge of inference optimization and model deployment on telecom platforms.
• Strong software engineering skills in C++ and Python for AI prototyping.

Responsibilities

• Design AI/ML-enabled RAN functions that can be productized and executed in real-time systems.
• Develop and optimize AI-based use cases like scheduling, mobility, and RRM.
• Integrate AI solutions into existing RAN products and workflows from prototype to production.
• Assess when ML adds value over classical methods; avoid overuse of AI.
• Design experiments and data collection to evaluate AI impact on performance.
