Job summary

Canduct Industries in London, Ontario, is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead manufacturing cells, coordinate daily operations, and drive efficiency and quality on the shop floor.

You will mentor staff, uphold health and safety standards, manage resources and schedules, and partner with the Production Manager to achieve production goals. Overtime and shift flexibility are part of the role, with strong opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Willing to work various shifts including nights and weekends.
• Proficient in MS Office; able to source information from the internet and internal databases.
• Prior machine operation experience.
• Health & Safety awareness and prevention.
• Reads drawings and uses measurement tools.
• Experience supervising in manufacturing is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Accomplishes operational goals by planning and coordinating manufacturing activities with work cells; coaches and disciplines employees; ensures conformance to quality systems.
• Maintains safe work environment; trains employees on equipment, processes, and procedures.
• Resolves employee conflicts and contributes to team effort as needed.
• Ensures health and safety policies are followed and enforced.
• May be reassigned to other duties; proposes solutions for process improvements to reduce waste.

Salary Range: CA$60,000.00 To CA$75,000.00 Annually

Job Responsibilities:

• Accomplishes assigned operational goals by communicating job expectations; planning & coordinating manufacturing activities with assigned work cells, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, accountability & disciplining employees; ensuring conformance to quality management system; training and mentoring employees; identify and manage risks & opportunities. Responsible for the efficient coordination of work cells, management of provided resources to achieve established goals & objectives; goals & objectives are clearly communicated & understood on the production floor, work cells have the required tools and trained labour to perform, work cells have the material and proper equipment to safely fabricate material. Manage gaps in performance & develop counter measures.
• Maintain safe work environment by educating and directing employees on the use of equipment and tools, processes, and procedures.
• Participate in effectively resolving/diffusing employee conflicts.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed/directed.
• Ensure all health and safety precautions are taken, policies are followed and enforced.
• The Production Supervisor may be reassigned to other work matching their qualifications from time to time. The Production Supervisor may also be required to complete other duties as assigned.
• The Production Supervisor will initiate, propose, or provide solutions related to potential process improvements to reduce or eliminate the generation of waste, the handling or disposal of waste through reclamation and/or recycling of material.

• Requires general computer skills and must be proficient in the use of MS Office, email, can source information from the internet and internal databases and learn new software programs.
• Prior machine operation experience
• Health & Safety awareness and prevention
• Works in collaboration with the hourly workers and Production Manager
• Ability to provide balanced approach to resolving employee conflicts.
• Ability to read drawings and use tape measures and various measurement tools.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet timelines along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Prior supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment will be an asset.
• Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint ERP, etc.).
• Demonstrated commitment to professional development.
• Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal; organizational and time management skills.
• Strong ability to provide positive and constructive feedback.
