Job summary

Oxford Learning Cambridge is seeking a part-time Math Teacher‑Tutor to work with students in Grades 5–10 at our Cambridge learning centre. This in‑person role focuses on strengthening foundational skills and intermediate/high school math concepts, with Oxford Learning materials provided.

Evening hours Mon–Thu (3:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m.) and Saturday mornings (9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.) are typical; salary is $18–$20 per hour. Applicants must reside within commuting distance of Cambridge, Ontario.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
• Strong math skills and tutoring/teaching experience.
• Knowledge of Ontario Grades 5–10 math curriculum.
• Ability to teach up to three students at different levels.
• Strong English written and oral communication skills.
• Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive approach to learning.
• Reliability and ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Teach up to three students at a time, often working at different grade and skill levels.
• Provide individualized math instruction using Oxford Learning programming and materials.
• Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
• Help students strengthen foundational skills while supporting current curriculum expectations.
• Encourage students to become more independent and confident learners.
• Complete post-lesson notes and student communication updates.
• Communicate student progress and concerns with the Education Team.
• Maintain a friendly, professional, and engaging learning environment.
