The Ottawa Hospital in Ottawa, Ontario is seeking an ER registration assistant to support patient intake in the Emergency Department. You will register patients, verify information, and assist with triage workflows in a busy hospital setting.

Ideal candidates have Grade 12, at least six months of clerical experience, data-entry speed (≈4000 keystrokes/hour), and bilingual proficiency in English and French. This role requires night and weekend shifts.

Position Information

This position will involve ER registration.

Rotation/Shifts

Nights, weekends, 8 hour shifts (23:30-07:30).

Basic Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent;
• Six (6) months recent clerical experience;
• Data Entry (4000 kph);
• Eligible to work in Canada;
• Proficiency in English and French oral expression (level 4 - advanced) and comprehension (level 4 - advanced).

The Ottawa Hospital uses a 5-level language proficiency scale to define the required level of language skills in English and in French for positions at the Hospital, and to evaluate job candidate language skills. Language proficiency requirements are based on the nature of the position and the level of interaction with French and English-speaking clients.
