Position Information

We are currently accepting applications for future Casual Staffing Assistant positions at The Ottawa Hospital.

This position is for the Prince of Wales Campus.

This position requires the successful candidate to work on-site.

Rotation/Shifts

Days and evenings, including weekends, 4, 6, 7 and 8 hour (5:00-9:00, 5:30-9:30, 5:30-13:30, 6:00-4:00, 7:00-15:00, 8:00-16:00, 14:00-22:00, 15:00-23:00, 16:00-22:00, 16:00-23:00). For information purposes only - The Hospital reserves the right to change.

Basic Requirements

• High school diploma;
• Six (6) months recent experience with a computerized staff scheduling system;
• Data Entry (4000 kph);
• Basic Excel;
• Good oral and written communication skills;
• Demonstrated ability and knowledge of computer staff scheduling system;
• Demonstrated positive, productive interpersonal skills;
• Ability to work independently;
• Familiar with TOH i.e. Knowledge of new hospital polices, familiar with the function, performance, and complexity of each unit and how they relate/affect one another;
• Familiar with scheduling guidelines in each of the collective agreements (ONA, CUPE, OPSEU) and the ESA;
• Basic understanding of HOODIP sick plan for each of the union groups;
• Basic understanding of coding impact (AMP, HOOPP, Sick/LTD, budget);
• Eligible to work in Canada;
