Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

This position acts as the initial contact with Diagnostic Imaging Clients. Main responsibilities include verifying patient documentation, performing registration and order placement for Diagnostic imaging studies in a timely manner, handling department communication, liaising with clients such as patients, physicians, and healthcare providers, and ensuring all patient records are processed efficiently, accurately, and confidentially. This ADS 08 position provides excellent customer service, demonstrating patience, kindness, and caring in a high-demand environment.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Grade 12 diploma, plus a 2-year post-secondary diploma in medical office administration
  • Minimum two years' experience providing administrative support in a busy clinical setting
  • Basic skills in Excel and typing
  • Intermediate skills in MS Word, medical spelling, and medical terminology
  • Clerical testing may be required during selection
  • Working knowledge of hospital patient processing systems and order placement (EPIC)
  • Proven ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships and demonstrate professional attitude and behavior
  • Previous booking experience, with knowledge of ultrasound and MRI processes
  • Effective and tactful communication skills, both in person and by phone
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, interruptions, and stressful situations while maintaining excellent interpersonal relationships
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and work independently
  • Experience in radiology department preferred
  • Good work performance and attendance record required
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate patient scheduling, registration, and order placement
  • Respond promptly, efficiently, and courteously to all telephone inquiries
  • Review and proofread requisitions to ensure completeness and proper authorization
  • Verify and update patient information, validate OHIP cards, and address customer service inquiries by phone
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to hospital policies regarding information release
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager
WAGE RATE

Hourly: $28.87 – $30.14 – $31.37 (plus 14% in lieu of benefits)
