Job summary

The Government of Canada - Central in Richmond Hill is seeking an administrative officer to support office operations and procedures. You will implement and review administrative processes, establish work priorities, and ensure deadlines are met in a fast-paced environment.

This permanent, full-time role requires a secondary school graduation certificate and 1–2 years of relevant experience. You will work at the physical location in Canada, with occasional travel and teamwork opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of electronic mail and calendar tools.
  • Ability to coordinate travel and related arrangements.

Responsibilities

  • Implement new administrative procedures
  • Review and evaluate new administrative procedures
  • Establish work priorities and ensure procedures are followed and deadlines are met
  • Carry out administrative activities of establishment
  • Co-ordinate and plan for office services such as accommodation, relocation, equipment, supplies, forms, disposal of assets, parking, maintenance and security services
  • Assist in the preparation of operating budget and maintain inventory and budgetary controls
  • Assemble data and prepare periodic and special reports, manuals and correspondence
  • Oversee and co-ordinate office administrative procedures
  • Plan and arrange for trade shows and exhibits
  • Monitor progress of delivery schedules
  • Establish and maintain contact with suppliers
