Job summary

Douglas College is seeking a part-time administrative professional to organize, plan, and provide outstanding customer service for students, faculty and staff. The role focuses on supporting daily operations and ensuring a smooth campus experience.

Strong English communication and organizational skills are essential. The position offers hybrid work arrangements and opportunities to collaborate across New Westminster and other campuses as needed.

Qualifications

  • Completed a one year program in Office Administration or related field.
  • Diploma or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Good working knowledge of English with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, plan, and provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty and staff.
  • Support daily operations and ensure smooth campus activities.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with diverse campus stakeholders.

Job description

Salary Range

$ 28.69 per hour (with wage increments to a max of $ 32.04 per hour). Salary and wage increments are in accordance with the Collective Agreement.

  • Completed a one year program in Office Administration or in a related field at a recognized post-secondary institution (diploma/ bachelor’s degree preferred) combined with a minimum of two years related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

  • Good working knowledge of English together with strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Good working knowledge of the applicable College policies and procedures

  • Proven ability to be flexible and adaptable in a dynamic, ever-changing environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to recognize, analyze and resolve problems.

  • This regular part-time (17.5 hours per week) position is available starting October 26, 2026.

  • Regular hours of work are Mondays, 9:00am-3:30pm, Wednesdays, 9:00am-3:30pm, and Fridays, 9:00am-3:00pm. Shift days and times may change depending on the Department’s need.

  • Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required.

  • The position is located at the New Westminster campus; however, successful candidate must be available for occasional work at all Douglas College campuses and offsite locations.
