Douglas College is seeking an Athletics and Recreation Events Assistant to support the delivery of events across campuses. You will assist with game day operations and coordinate schedules to engage students and foster a positive campus experience.
The role requires flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and may involve travel between campuses. This part-time position is based mainly at the New Westminster campus and offers an hourly wage of CAD 20–26 with opportunities for growth

This position is responsible for the delivery of Athletics & Recreation events; including Game Day Operations which requires an understanding of NIRSA , PACWEST , NWAC and CCAA leagues, policies and protocols. A successful candidate will operate within a student-centered framework to enhance student engagement, enrich the student experience, and foster an environment for student success. The Athletics & Recreation Event Assistant reports to the Manager, Athletics & Recreation Operations.

This contract part-time position is available from August 10, 2026 to December 31, 2026. Hours of work will vary based on event schedules each semester and will typically fall between 8:00am and 10:00pm. This position is required to work a flexible schedule based on operational needs with possible increase up to 35 hours per week during peak periods. Evening and weekend work will be required. The position is located primarily at the New Westminster campus and will be required to work at all Douglas College campuses and offsite locations.
This position will remain open until filled with a first review date of July 20, 2026. Interviews may commence as early as August 3, 2026.
