Job summary

Douglas College is seeking a Manager, Financial Operations to lead financial operations, reporting, and internal controls. The role focuses on ensuring tax compliance, system integrations, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

The position is based at the New Westminster Campus with potential hybrid arrangements for eligible roles. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in financial operations and 3+ years supervisory experience in a unionized setting.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in financial operations, systems and reporting.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a unionized environment, preferably within the public sector.
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting, financial management, internal controls, and Canadian accounting standards.
  • Demonstrated experience with integrated ERP systems and strong technical proficiency with financial systems and reporting tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality while working in a complex, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial operations, reporting and compliance in a fast-paced environment.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and strengthen internal controls and tax compliance.
  • Oversee ERP and financial systems integrations to ensure accurate financial data.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across campuses and departments.

Regular hours of work are 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, however occasional evenings and weekends may be required. This position will be based at the New Westminster Campus. Occasional travel between Douglas College’s locations as required.
