Job summary

Alberta Health Services is seeking a Unit Clerk for the Acute Care and Emergency on-site at Canmore General Hospital. You will ensure efficient communication among health professionals, patients and families, while handling patient records, orders and scheduling with confidentiality and accuracy.

The role supports the nursing unit under a charge nurse and reports to the Site Manager. Minimum and maximum salary ranges are listed, with regular part-time standards and shift rotations across days,

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.
• Recent unit clerk experience or similar duties, preferably in health care.
• Proficient computer skills including data entry.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Connect Care training.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and coordinate activity and information on the nursing unit.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals.
• Maintain patient records and charts; transcribe and process physician orders.
• Schedule patient tests and treatments; support unit administration.
