Job description

We are currently looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our Accounting Team. Reporting to the Controller, the Accounts Receivable Clerk will play a key role in maintaining AR account health, proactively managing overdue accounts, and enforcing credit and collection policies.

Accountabilities:

  1. Prepare invoices, credit memos, deposits, and release sales orders;
  2. Verify the accuracy of billing records and follow the three-way matching process;
  3. Reconcile bank, credit cards, maintain accurate customer records, and proper payment application;
  4. Reconcile AR ledger to GL, investigate disputes/customers issues, and process credit memos as required;
  5. Review and monitor DSO including internal follow-up process to communicate with customers and sales department to expedite payment and collections;
  6. Review, maintain, and update Nav ERP customers’ records;
  7. Generate weekly and monthly reports (financial & statistical) and provide recommendations;
  8. Assist with month-end closing activities;
  9. Conduct collection calls, emails, follow-up, and implement collection procedures to maximize recovery. Track and follow up with applicable PCFP staff to maintain a consistent flow to the process;
  10. Perform general accounting functions such as data entry, maintain accounting documents and records as needed;
  11. Attend weekly departmental meetings;
  12. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  2. Strong customer focus with business acumen, outstanding problem-solving skills, and results-oriented, with a curious mindset.
  3. Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask and manage conflicting priorities.
  4. Detail-oriented with a drive for continuous improvement.
  5. Post-secondary education in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline is a plus.
  6. Experience with ERP systems (Dynamics NAV or Microsoft D365) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook & Planner) skills is a plus.
  7. 1-2 years of experience is preferred.
