We are partnering with a well-established Ontario food and beverage manufacturer that supplies grocery retailers, foodservice, and scoop shops to find their next Accounts Payable Specialist. In this critical, single-owner role, you will be the point of control for all accounts payable operations, managing the entire purchase-to-pay (P2P) cycle within Oracle NetSuite. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and suppliers to ensure accurate, timely payments while driving process improvements and maintaining tight financial controls.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Processing and entering all supplier invoices into NetSuite, ensuring accurate coding to the general ledger, department, and class.
• Setting up and maintaining clean vendor records, including verifying banking details for EFT payments using strict call-back procedures.
• Applying correct sales tax treatments (GST/HST input tax credits) and processing foreign-currency (USD) invoices.
• Preparing weekly payment runs based on terms and discounts, issuing payments via EFT, cheque, wire, and credit card upon authorization.
• Acting as the primary contact for supplier inquiries, resolving discrepancies, and reconciling vendor statements monthly.
• Reconciling the AP subledger to the general ledger, goods received not invoiced (GR/IR) accounts, and producing necessary AP aging and accrual reports for month-end close.
• Monitoring for duplicate invoices, fraudulent payment requests, and identifying opportunities to improve automation in NetSuite.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:

• A college diploma or university degree in accounting, finance, or business, or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years of full-cycle accounts payable experience, ideally within a manufacturing or food and beverage environment.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle NetSuite (an asset), specifically working with purchase orders, item receipts, vendor bills, payments, and saved searches.
• Working knowledge of three-way matching, accruals, and AP-to-GL reconciliation.
• Strong understanding of GST/HST, input tax credits, and foreign-currency (USD) transaction processing.
• Intermediate proficiency in Excel, including experience with VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and reconciliations.
• High attention to detail, strong ownership capabilities, and excellent professional communication skills.
