Job summary

Associated Engineering, a proudly Canadian, employee-owned company, is seeking an experienced Accounting Clerk - Payables for our Edmonton office. You will verify invoices, code entries in ERP, and manage payments with minimal supervision while maintaining accuracy and timely approvals.

Qualifications

• A Diploma in Business Administration or Accounting from an accredited technical institute.
• Minimum of 2 years of Accounts Payable experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other office software.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Highly detail oriented and accurate.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Ability to multi-task and work with deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Verifying the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records.
• Ensuring appropriate approvals for incoming invoices and expense reports.
• Coding and entering invoice data into our defined ERP system.
• Reviewing data entered into our ERP system for accuracy.
• Updating and maintaining accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.g., disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable).
• Preparing and performing payment runs for both cheque and EFT payments.
• Setting up and maintaining vendor mast files within our database.
• Responding to vendor inquiries and performing any follow up required.
• Assisting with month-end closing procedures.
• Communicating with a variety of stakeholders to ensure proper approvals for all invoices.
