Job summary

Edmonton Global is seeking an Accounting Associate to support the day-to-day financial operations across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. The role involves payables, receivables, reconciliations, GST compliance, and month-end close.

You will also assist with grant reporting, audit preparation, and continuous process improvements in a hybrid downtown office and work-from-home environment.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Business Admin, or related field, or 3–5 years of full-cycle accounting experience.
• Understanding of AP/AR, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams.
• Experience with multi-entity accounting is an asset.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with financial data.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices and employee expenses in Dext and QuickBooks Online with accurate coding.
• Prepare accounts payable payments and verify vendor information per procedures.
• Record customer payments and follow up on receivables.
• Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, investigate variances.
• Prepare GST returns and supporting schedules for CRA review.
• Support month-end close with journal entries and accruals.
• Maintain books across multiple entities and funds.
• Assist with grant reporting and audit readiness.
• Respond to internal inquiries about expenses and data.
• Support year-end audit and implement process improvements.
