Job summary

Emmerson Packaging is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to process supplier invoices and perform general clerical accounting duties. You will handle three-way matching, posting invoices, and aiding month-end tasks.

Responsibilities

• Receives invoices from suppliers; processes for payment with a three-way match (invoice, purchase order, packing/receiving slip).
• Collects and sorts receiving slips daily.
• Posts accounts payable invoices in accounting system.
• Follows up on receiving issues such as missing slips or errors.
• Follows up on purchase order issues such as wrong quantities, missing POs, etc.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Accounts Payable Clerk processes invoices for payment and performs general clerical accounting duties.

JOB TASKS :

• Receives invoices from suppliers; processes for payment with a three-way match (invoice, purchase order, packing/receiving slip)
• Collects and sorts receiving slips daily
• Posts accounts payable invoices in accounting system
• Follows up on receiving issues such as missing slips or errors
• Follows up on purchase order issues such as wrong quantities, missing POs, etc.
• Assists with processing ACH’s, EFT’s, and cheques for weekly payments to suppliers
• Completes month end accrual reports and investigates discrepancies
• Aids with month end accounts payable reconciliation
• Assists with filing copies of cheques and back-up documents
• Acts as backup for other accounts payable functions

COMPETENCIES:

• Proficient in the use of Excel software program
• Strong time-management and organizational skills; able to multi-task effectively
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy; detail-oriented

REQUIRMENTS :

• High School diploma, or equivalent

PREFFERED:

• Completion of post-secondary basic accounting course
