The Accounting Technician, reporting to the Manager, Finance. Responsibilities will include ensuring the accurate and timely entry of revenue and expense reports, preparing the premium remittances to our partners and supporting the overall financial operations of the organization.
What You Will Do
- Record revenue from external statements in the accounting system and perform variance analysis by comparing actual figures against the budget
- Perform daily operations relating to accounts receivable, including reviewing client accounts and following up for timely collection, and maintaining aging of accounts at acceptable levels
- Review expense reports and receipts to ensure accuracy and compliance, and reporting on non-compliance
- Timely remittance of Net Premium payments to external partners
- Assist with our Process Documentation Initiative of the other team members’ tasks in order to provide backup when required
- Other ad-hoc tasks as required
What You Will Bring
- Completed post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance
- Previous accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
- Comfortable dealing with company personnel at various levels and can work in a team
