Job summary

AutoCanada's Used Digital department is seeking a permanent, full-time Accounting Clerk in Winnipeg to support two Canadian entities with deal processing and general accounting duties. The role sits in a fast-paced, data-driven environment and requires strong attention to detail and communication skills.

The position supports month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, A/P/A/R tasks, and collaboration with dealership teams to resolve issues. Automotive experience is an asset.

Qualifications

• Post secondary education in accounting or related experience.
• Familiarity with CDK accounting software is considered an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential matters.

Responsibilities

• Assist Controller in the full-cycle accounting functions across 2 entities.
• Deal postings (Wholesale and Retail).
• Bank reconciliations and associated postings.
• Prepare and process journal entries and adjustments to ensure proper recording of all business transactions.
• Work with dealership teams to address issues such as daily deposits, accounts payable, and day-to-day accounting tasks.
• A/P and A/R duties.
• Stocking in of inventory into system.
• Processing cheques and EFT/Wire payments.
• Communicate with vendors and manage monthly remittances.
• Maintain monthly schedules and GST/PST remittances.
• Assist Controller in financial statement preparation and reporting.
• Assist Controller with audit requests.

Your area of focus.

The Accounting Clerk is a permanent, full-time position for Auto Canada’s Used Digital department. The focus will be on a deal processing from all provinces across Canada as well as general accounting duties as required.

What drives your day-to-day?

• Assist Controller in the full-cycle accounting functions across 2 entities
• Deal postings (Wholesale and Retail)
• Bank reconciliations and associated postings required
• Prepare and process journal entries and adjustments to ensure proper recording of all business transactions
• Work closely with dealership team members to address any issues such as daily deposits, accounts payable, and any other day to day accounting issues
• A/P and A/R duties
• Stocking in of inventory into system
• Processing cheques and EFT/Wire payments
• Communicate with vendors
• Various monthly remittances
• Maintaining monthly schedules
• GST/PST Remittances
• Assist Controller in financial statement preparation and reporting
• Assist Controller with audit requests
• Other duties as required
