Job summary

AutoCanada is seeking a Senior Accountant for our Edmonton, AB area, onsite, with immediate hire. The role focuses on bookkeeping, reconciliations, and compiling financial statements, with tax filings and intercompany considerations.

The candidate should have solid accounting knowledge, experience with QBO or Sage, and the ability to manage high-volume data and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Basic accounting experience in real-world scenarios.
• Solid understanding of job costing, accruals, prepaids, receivables, payables.
• Knowledge of intercompany transactions and handling personal items.

Responsibilities

• Bookkeeping and financial record maintenance.
• Account reconciliation and error resolution.

• Assist other team members.

What drives your day-to-day?

• Bookkeeping
• Account reconciliation
• Compilation of financial statements
• Filing and payment of various sales taxes
• Assist other team members
• Some administrative work
• Various projects as required

What are the must haves…

• Some work experience in accounting related roles. Need to know how to apply accounting concepts in real world situations
• Very sound accounting knowledge. Needs to understand concept of job costing, accruals, prepaids, receivables, payables and how intercompany transactions and personal items are handled.
• Experience in using accounting software such as QBO or Sage for data processing and reconciliation
• Good understanding of how GST/HST works. Have understanding of how various PST works is an asset.
• Good time management to meet all deadlines
• Maintain good communications with all parties
• Remain attention to details in fast pace environment and when handling high volume of data
• Adaptable to changes to meet business needs
