Job summary

Matix Lumber Inc. seeks an Accounting Clerk to join our growing team. You will gain hands-on experience across accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end tasks while progressing through the CPA program.

The ideal candidate has a diploma or degree in accounting or business, is detail-oriented, proficient in Excel, and comfortable with numbers. Exposure to accounting software is an asset, with strong organizational skills and a proactive attitude.

Qualifications

• A diploma or degree in accounting/business (e.g., RedRiver Polytechnic Business Administration – Accounting, or equivalent).
• Enrolled in, or planning to start, the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA).
• Strong attention to detail and comfort working with numbers.
• Proficiency in Excel; exposure to accounting software is an asset.
• Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Assist with bank reconciliations and month-end close tasks
• Match invoices to purchase orders and packing slips
• Maintain accurate records and support document filing/organization
• Help prepare supporting schedules for financial reporting
• Assist the finance team with ad hoc reporting and data entry as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
