Job Requirements:
Successful candidates will work well in a team setting, but will be extremely self-motivated and driven. Applicants must have 2 years of experience in an accounting role. Preference will be given to applicants with prior dealership experience.
Candidates must have strong interpersonal and phone skills, as well as a proficiency learning new software. Organizational skills, and attention to detail are a must for this position.
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Receivable/Payable Clerk to join our team on a 1-year maternity leave contract. This full-time role requires a 44-hour work week and is ideal for someone with strong accounting skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a busy dealership environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Invoice Management: Process incoming supplier invoices and generate customer invoices accurately and on time.
Payment Handling: Manage outgoing payments to vendors and apply incoming payments from customers across various channels.
Account Reconciliation: Reconcile AP/AR transactions regularly to ensure accurate financial records and resolve discrepancies.
Customer and Vendor Relations: Maintain positive relationships by addressing inquiries, resolving billing issues, and ensuring timely collections and payments.
Reporting and Compliance: Prepare financial reports (e.g., aging summaries), support month-end close, and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role (automotive industry experience is an asset)
Solid understanding of accounts payable and receivable procedures
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with dealership management systems (e.g. CDK) is an advantage
High attention to detail and a strong sense of accuracy
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
