Job summary

Altis Technology in Toronto, ON is seeking an Accounting Analyst on a year-long contract to support financial reporting, reconciliations and day-to-day accounting operations. You will report to financial leadership and work with the accounting team to ensure accurate, timely information during a busy period.

This role offers hands-on involvement across GL, AP, AR and reporting, with opportunities to contribute to process improvements while maintaining strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant financial analysis and accounting experience.
• College diploma or degree in Finance, Business, Accounting or a related discipline.
• Completion of or progress toward a CPA designation is required.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting practices and internal financial controls.

Responsibilities

• Prepare month-end and year-end journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, amortization, reallocations and corrections.
• Analyze financial records, reconcile general ledger, bank, receivable and liability accounts, and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain fixed asset capitalization and amortization schedules, supporting documentation and audit-ready records.
• Support accounts payable and receivable processes, payment-cycle validations, cash reporting and sub-ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare financial schedules, account analyses and supporting reports for internal stakeholders and auditors.
• Document processes and contribute to system, process and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency across Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational and communication skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Experience with relational databases, BI tools, internal controls or enterprise risk management is considered an asset.
