Job summary

MNP is seeking a Senior Accountant for its Assurance & Accounting team in Canada. You will provide compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping and tax engagements, while guiding clients and junior staff through complex engagements.

The role emphasizes delivering tailored financial insights to inform client decisions and offers opportunities for professional growth within a leading national firm.

Qualifications

• CPA designation required.
• 2–4 years of public accounting experience.
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP, SEC and IFRS.
• Experience with accounting and tax software.
• Understanding of business, accounting, management and practice development principles.

Responsibilities

• Conduct compilation, review, audit, bookkeeping and tax engagements.
• Set-up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses; manage multiple files and perform inventory counts.
• Perform accounts receivable, accounts payable, asset acquisition/disposition and payroll walkthrough with clients.
• Summarize clients’ financial status by preparing balance sheets, P&L statements and reports.
• Develop working relationships with clients and mentor junior staff.
• Support business development initiatives and identify new opportunities.
• Travel as required.
