Job summary

MNP is seeking an Accountant to join our Assurance & Accounting team in Prince George, starting September 2027. You will provide tailored financial information and serve as a trusted advisor to clients in a dynamic Canada-wide firm.

Responsibilities include preparing financial statements, engaging with clients, and contributing to process improvements while maintaining travel flexibility as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration (accounting or finance major preferred).
• Prerequisites for CPA Professional Education Program (PEP) upon employment start.
• Previous accounting-related office experience is an asset.
• Customer service experience is an asset.
• Experience with accounting and tax software is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical skills in compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping and tax.
• Learn IFRS, GAAP and ASPE concepts.
• Set up files for new clients and manage multiple files.
• Perform AR, AP, asset acquisition/disposal and payroll walkthroughs.
• Summarize financial status with balance sheets and P&L statements.
• Assess audit evidence for expenses, revenues and assets.
• Review discrepancies in financial entries and reports.
• Establish charts of accounts and posting entries.
• Prepare correspondence, reports, and client summaries.
